I have been remiss, what with the holidays, but check out all the great press the book is getting!
So excited! The first story about my new novel, Eat, Drink, and Be Married, is out today. Check out http://la-confidential-magazine.com/channels/home-page/insights#author-rebecca-bloom-on-eat-drink-and-be-married
You know me and any product touched by the hand of a contemporary artist always catches my eye. This fall, iconic leather brand Smythson will launch its Art Diary series with limited edition two-sized diaries created by John Baldessari, Ed Ruscha, Gary Hume, and Rachel Whiteread. The leather-bound books incorporate the artists’ vision, with specialized ribbons and linings and will be available in a selection of leathers and colors. They will also include editorial picks from The Art Newspaper, highlighting art goings-on around the world to keep you up to date on all art exhibitions, auctions, and fairs happening in 2009. And, if having a chic book to store your most important dates wasn’t enough, all the proceeds from the sale of these limited editions will be donated to a charity selected by the artist.
I am writing my first post! How exciting, or strange depending on how you feel about the whole blogging thing which i am undecided about but i figure, why not try. So, a little about me, i am a author, designer, sister, aunt, friend, and bride-to-be. The bride thing has been taking over my life as of late, but i like it. A new hobby, a new batch of websites to tool around, and new stage of life. I figure why not embrace the change? And, by change i mean of my marital status, not of who i am. That is the big thing i ponder now, when you change your name, do you change who you are? Are you losing a piece of your identity because while I am super happy to evolve and become a permanent plus 1, I’d hate to lose Rebecca Bloom.
